Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream is a topical corticosteroid. It acts by discouraging the formation, release, and activity of different cells and chemicals that cause swelling, redness, and itching. It mimics the action of hydrocortisone. Hydrocortisone is a naturally occurring steroid produced in the body by the adrenal glands. Corticosteroid helps to suppress the immune system by its potent anti-inflammatory activity.  


Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream is a highly potent corticosteroid indicated for the aid of the inflammatory and pruritic signs of corticosteroid-responsive Dermatoses in patients 13 years and older. It is also used to treat skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, allergies, and rash.


Contraindication is a condition in which a particular drug or treatment is not recommended. Betamethasone Dipropionate cream is contraindicated in case of

  • If the patient is hypersensitive to Betamethasone Dipropionate or any of the ingredients of this cream.

  • Do not use this cream if the patient is having a problem of thinning of the skin, a skin infection, tuberculosis, chickenpox, shingles, measles, a positive TB skin test, or have recently been vaccinated.

  • Do not recommend this cream to the pregnant ladies and lactating mothers

  • Do not use this cram if you are using any other topical creams preparation.

  • Do not recommend this cream to the children below 12years of age.

Missed dose:

If you miss a dose of betamethasone Dipropionate cream, apply it as soon as you recall. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use double doses at once.


Since it’s a topical preparation hence chances  of overdosing is not possible but if in any case you feel any type of allergic reaction or any type of discomfort immediately contact your health provider.
