Combivir is an oral medicine that is used for the treating human immunodeficiency virus or HIV. This medicine is a mixture of two other medicines called lamivudine (Epivir) and zidovudine (Retrovir). It is used to treat infections with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Lamivudine and zidovudine medicines are related with the set of medications known as reverse transcriptase inhibitors. Combivir is an effective treatment for reducing the signs of HIV. This medicine is not a complete treatment for HIV or AIDS.
