Cytarabine is used for the treatment of acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) it is used alone or in combination with other chemotherapy drugs to treat non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and some types of brain tumors. Cytarabine is also used alone or with other chemotherapy drugs to treat meningeal leukemia (cancer in the membrane that covers and protects the spinal cord and brain). This medicine is related with the class of medicines known as antimetabolites. It acts by reducing or preventing the growth of cancer cells in your body. Cytarabine is a fragrance-free, white colored, crystalline powder which is generously soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol and in chloroform. You must take this medicine under the direction of a doctor.

You must stay away from the overdose of it. Take the dosage according to the instruction of the doctor. If overdose is taken by you just call to your doctor immediately or else it may cause a harsh problem for you.
There are some side effects of using this medicine. You must tell your doctor right away if you face any signs of infection like fever, chills, constant aching throat, abnormal exhaustion, unforced bruising or bleeding, sickness, vomiting, abdominal pain, dark urine etc.
