Viagra Super Active is the first launched drug for the treatment of ED. It is widely accepted and popular ED drug. Viagra super active differs from normal Viagra in the appearance and formulation. They both contain same therapeutic entity “sildenafil”. Viagra super active pills are soft and made up of gelatin. Once taken orally it gets absorbed promptly in the blood stream. It acts faster than hard Viagra tablets; these pills should be taken one hour before Physical intercourse. Sildenafil is a Phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE 5) inhibitor. It enhances the blood supply to the erectile tissues of penile thereby making erection possible in the patients of erectile dysfunction. This medicine is not a sex stimulant; an external stimulation is required for the drug to act. VIAGRA does not cure ED permanently.

INDICATIONS/USES

VIAGRA super active aids the ED patients to attain and maintain a remarkable stiffness of the penis and accomplish the act of love making.

ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE

Viagra super active is formulated as soft gel capsules containing sildenafil citrate enclosed in gelatin form. This form of Viagra is introduced to enhance patient compliance. Soft gel capsules offer better and quicker absorption than hard pills. They can be easily administered orally. The recommended dose is 100 mg once a day. It should be taken at least 20 minutes prior to intercourse. The second dose should not be taken within 24 hours of first one. Dose may vary from patient to patient. Elderly patients may require some dose adjustments before using VIAGRA; consult your doctor before using it. Its action lasts for 4-6 hours.

Missed doses:

Viagra is not used on a regular basis, so no chance of missed doses.

Overdose:

In case of over dosage, immediately contact nearest emergency centre.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Viagra is the first drug used for erectile dysfunction. cGMP is a chemical in the body which causes relaxation of vascular smooth muscles and increases blood flow to various tissues of the body.  PDE5 (phosphodiesterase5) is an enzyme which degrades the amount of cGMP. It is found in the erectile tissue of the penis, vascular endothelium (walls of blood vessels) and retina of the eyes. Sildenafil increases the concentration of cGMP in tissues by restraining PDE5. High concentration of cGMP causes vasodilation of penile blood vessels which results considerable rigidity of male genital organ.
