Sorafenat is a medicine which is used as chemotherapy. This drug is inhibits the working of cancer cells which are spread or grow in the patient’s body. This drug is also helping in the treatment of liver cancer. This drug contains Sorafenib Tosylate which belongs the drugs of kinase inhibitors. This medication acts by inhibiting the kinase inhibitor and decrease the growth or development of the cancer cells. This mechanism of the drug also helpful in the healing of this carcinoma.
USES OF THESORAFENAT:
It contains 200 mg tablets. Sorafenat is used in the treatment of cancer which is occurring in the kidney known as carcinoma, and it is also used in the primary treatment of liver cancer also.
CONTRAINDICATIONS OF THESORAFENAT:
In some conditions this medication is not prescribed to the patients because these drugs may be harmful to the patients, these conditions are given below:
- The patient is hypersensitive with any ingredient present in this drug then no need to take this medication.
- It is not recommended for pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers because this medication is harmful for the babies.
- This medication is also no recommended for the patients who are suffering from the cardiac disorder or any blood pressure problem.
Some medications which are not recommended for the Sorafenat because these medications can increase, decrease or block the action of this Sorafenat, these medications are mentioned below:
Tracleer, Dacadron, Hexadrol, Antinaus, Levofloxacin, Zelapar, Aralen, Jantoven, Dolasetron, Trisenox, Mycobutin, Chloroquine, Nembutal, Coumadin, Rifamate, Mycifradin, Warfarin, Jantoven, Montelukast, St. John’s Wort, Mefloquine, Bacterim, Dolasetron, Thorazine, Haloperidol, Carbamazepine, Pimozide, Chlorpromazine, Odansetron, Methadone Glipizide, Pioglitazone, Nateglinide.

Sorafenat is taken orally with one glass of water it is used after 60 to 120 minutes of the meal. This drug is taken two times in a day.
IN CASE OF MISSED DOSE:
In the case of missed dose consume it as soon as possible, but it should be notice that takes this dose over two hours of the food. In case the time is near for the scheduled dose then no need to consume the skip dose. Avoid taking two doses at the same time to cover up the missed dose.
IN CASE OF OVERDOSE:
In the case of overdose patient is suffering from these adverse effects like rashes on the skin, severe headache, feeling of nausea and diarrhoea. In such situations immediately concern with your doctor.
During the intake of this drug some side effects are occur like feeling of weakness, sensation of vomiting, appetite gets loss, diarrhoea, sore in the stomach, colour of skin and eyes gets pale, weight loss, hair gets thin, itching of the skin, stool colour is changed (bloody or black), difficulty in the breathing, pain in the mouth, heavy cough, pain occurs in the palm or the soles of your feet, heart beat is changed, not able to concentrate on your work, chest tightness, bleeding occur in the vagina, nose or mouth, feeling of illness, pain in the shoulder or arms, breathless, not able to sleep well, more sweating, dry cough, sudden weight is gained, and unusual weakness.Goitre, high pressure, vision gets blurred, neck gets swollen, problems with hearing, confusion, skin rashes which are purple in colour spread on the face or upper body, and high fever.
During the consumption of this drug the patients should take some precautions which are given below:
- Breastfeeding mothers do not giveown milk to her baby.
- If any adverse effects you face during consuming this drug then considered by your doctor.
